Criterion Referenced Test Scores
EPS students met all state benchmarks!
The
Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests assess students' knowledge of certain
skills and
information, specifically the Priority Academic Student Skills objectives
established by the Oklahoma State Department of Education. Students
earn their scores based on their knowledge of given benchmarks.
The
test results, provided to parents each year, include the following
information: the percentage of satisfactory answers, advanced answers,
limited-knowledge answers and unsatisfactory answers.
At
the secondary level, state mandates require that End-of-Instruction
tests be conducted at the conclusion of certain courses. The score
is recorded on the student's transcript.
Test
results are important teaching tools. They can be used to analyze
a student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as to assist in identifying
any special placement the child may need. Teachers also can use
the test scores to determine what material they may need to cover
more thoroughly.
