Enid Public Schools has selected Annie Heathman as the assistant principal of Longfellow Middle School.
Heathman has been a member of the Longfellow team since 2012, serving as an instructional coach that provides academic support to students and to teachers. She brings two decades of educational experience to her new position, having taught in Arizona from 2007-2012 and with EPS from 1996-2007 and 2012-2018.
“Ms. Heathman is an outstanding choice for this position. Not only is she a master of instructional and educational practices, she is a Longfellow Mustang at heart,” Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education Doug Stafford said. “She knows the school and is invested in its success and the success of its students. She and new principal Jon Mitchell will make an excellent team.”
Heathman earned her Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Central Oklahoma and her Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Reading Specialist from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. In addition to administrative credentials at the elementary and secondary levels, she is certified to teach elementary education and to be a reading specialist.
Heathman succeeds Tanea Artman, who was recently named principal of Hoover Elementary School.
