Enid Public Schools Early Childhood Enrollment
Enid Public Schools will welcome its newest learners next week with a plan to distribute enrollment information for the 2020-2021 school year while social distancing.
“We know that our early childhood classes are the foundation for learning,” said Randy Rader, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education. “We are looking forward to creating that bond with students and watching them become Pacers and Plainsmen one day.”
Due to social distancing protocols, enrollment information will be distributed through packets at the home school site on Monday, May 18, from 8-10 a.m. and 12-3:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to stay in their cars and EPS employees will distribute packets to complete at home.
Parents will return packets with copies of appropriate documents to the home school site on Thursday, May 21, 8-10 a.m. and 12-3:30 p.m. An extra drop-off day is scheduled for May 26.
Due to growing enrollment at each site, students from Adams Elementary School and Garfield Elementary School, along with other students, will attend Carver Early Childhood Center, located at 815 S. 5th. The school, designed with pre-kindergarteners in mind, opened six years ago through generous donations from the United Way of Enid and Northwest Oklahoma and the Inasmuch Foundation. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, students planning to attend the full-day intergenerational four-year-old program at The Commons will pick up four-year-old packets at Carver ECC. Students will attend school at Carver ECC but still interact with The Commons residents virtually and possibly through field trips.
Four-year-old enrollment packets will also be available at the new Willa Jo Fowler Early Childhood Center located at 102 S. 30th on the NWOSU-Enid campus. Transfers are not needed to enroll at Fowler ECC.
Copies of the following documents are required for enrollment when dropping off packets:
If parents are unable to make copies, local businesses such as Staples, Jumbo Foods, and PDQ Printing are available to make copies. Parents are also welcome to email copies to the school.
All EPS four-year-old programs focus on the social, academic, physical and emotional needs of children. Students must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2020.
Parents can find their home school site by visiting enidpublicschools.org, hovering over the Enrollment tab and clicking “Find Your Child’s School Site”.
Information on kindergarten enrollment will be released at a later date. Please contact the EPS Welcome Center for questions at 580.366.7100.
