Enid Public Schools is updating how families can enroll in the district’s early childhood centers, Carver and Fowler.

To better serve families, students that live in the Garfield Elementary zones will have four-year-old students attend Carver Early Childhood Center, located at 815 Pastor Alfred Baldwin Jr. Way, and students that live in the Adams Elementary zones will attend Fowler Early Childhood Center, located at 102 S. 30th. Enrollment is still on a first come first serve basis and students from other zones are welcome to enroll for programs at Fowler and Carver.

Carver Early Childhood students will be known as the Carver Cubs under the leadership of Garfield principal, Amanda Rader and assistant principal, April Stanley. Fowler Early Childhood Center students will be known as the Fowler Little Rangers, in collaboration with Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Enid, and their principal will be Reba Gregory at Adams Elementary.

Randy Rader, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education, said the district is excited to continue the excellence in our early childhood programs.

“By making Fowler a satellite campus of Adams and Carver a satellite campus of Garfield, we feel like this will provide most of the students the opportunity to be a part of the schools that they eventually will attend in kindergarten through Fifth Grade,” said Rader. “The students and their families can begin to develop relationships with the administration and staff while still maintaining their own identity as a unique Early Childhood Campus. We are of course very excited to continue our relationship as a teacher training facility for our partners at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and we feel like designating Fowler as the “Little Rangers” will strengthen that partnership.”

All new students enrolling in the district must visit www.enidpublicschools.org/enrollment or call the district’s Welcome Center at 580-366-7100 to schedule a time to visit 500 S. Independence to enroll. For enrolling in a four-year-old program, to attend Fowler families will need to select “Adams Elementary” and those that wish to attend Carver will need to select “Garfield Elementary”.

In addition to these changes, The Commons Early Childhood Classroom, a collaborative effort between EPS and The Commons Retirement Community, will be housed out of Prairie View Elementary. This intergenerational program has previously been housed at Carver Early Childhood Center and before 2020 was located inside The Commons. The students in the prekindergarten classroom at Prairie View will have a specific schedule that will include interactive field trips and projects with the retirement home’s citizens.

Please have a birth certificate, immunization record, and proof of address (utility bill is best) ready to enroll new students. Students with middle and high school records will need to provide those as well.

For any questions on enrollment, please call the Welcome Center at 580-366-7100.
