Tyler Elders

Enid Public Schools is thrilled to announce the hire of new Secondary Curriculum Director, Tyler Elders.

His duties will begin on July 1.

Elders has been an instructional coach at Enid High School since July 2023, where he assisted with many aspects of instruction including planning professional development and refining curriculum.

He began his career in education in 2008 at Marshall High School in Marshall, Texas, as a science teacher. He then went on to teach and coach at North Forney High School in Forney, TX, and eventually held an instructional coach position at McKinney High School in McKinney, TX, in 2014 where he served until he joined the EHS team in 2023.

"We are thrilled to welcome Tyler Elders to our team as the new Secondary Curriculum Director," said Dr. Angela Rhoades, Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education. "Tyler's extensive knowledge and experience will be invaluable as we strive to improve student achievement, offer essential instructional support for our teachers, and collaborate closely with our students, staff, and parents. His contributions will be instrumental in shaping the future success of our secondary education programs."

Elders holds certification in English as a Second Language, Mild-Moderate Disabilities, Severely Multiple Handicapped, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physical Science, Biology, and a standard certification in K-12. He received his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Science at Texas A&M University and his Master’s in Education Leadership from East Central University.

Elders is excited to work with all secondary certified staff at EPS, saying:

Outside of work, Mr. Elders enjoys hunting, fishing and playing golf. These activities reflect his appreciation for patience, strategy, and continual growth. He values opportunities to serve others and is especially passionate about supporting Special Olympics and efforts to help provide meals to those in need.
