The Air Force Junior ROTC (AFJROTC) program at Enid High School has earned the highest possible rating of “Exceeds Standards” following its Unit Assessment conducted on December 2, 2025.
Regional Director, Steve Sanders, did his assessment of the program with the intention of providing feedback on the performance of the unit and to assess its compliance with the applicable laws, policies, and the Memorandum of Agreement between Enid Public Schools and the United States Air Force.
Meeting all of these standards and expectations the EHS unit scored an impressive 95.5, earning the highest rating attainable.
“Our EHS AFJROTC program has a huge impact across our campus with a real sense of belonging and serious purpose of service and intentional positive work to make our school a better place,” said Craig Liddell, head principal at EHS. “The growth of our students in terms of their character, work ethic, commitment, and leadership potential has been impressive.”
EHS cadets have demonstrated exceptional performance and pride in achieving their unit’s goals reflecting the program’s commitment to excellence. Under the instructional guidance of Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Lance Murray and Technical Sergeant (Ret) Michael Nelson the program impressed evaluators with its strong cadet leadership, active cadet participation, and selfless community involvement.
“I could not be more proud of our EHS JROTC program, our EHS AFJROTC students and our instructors,” said Dr. Dudley Darrow, superintendent. “Col Murray and Serg. Nelson are the perfect complementing pair for the program, and the program's success is a direct reflection of their hard work and efforts.”
